KCA UK is one of the leading and renowned alliances of Mangaloreans in the United Kingdom. We are based at Manchester and currently consists of more that 35 families from different parts of the United Kingdom. The instigation of forming KCA UK started in the year 2004 by enthusiastic Mangaloreans, who had then migrated to United Kingdom, specifically to the North-West of England. The primary objective during that time was to develop a sense of common community feeling to those who are originally hailing from ‘Kodial’ – Mangalore. On September 08, 2005 KCA UK was officially formed, by celebrating Monti-Fest (Harvest Festival) in Manchester. This has been done with holy mass in Konkani followed by entertainment with cultural activities. KCA UK is celebrating this festival every year, taking into account of all traditional and cultural values of the homeland. Since inception, there were quite a few activities such as picnics and indoor functions. In the due course of time, it is felt that the KCA UK should grow and provide platforms for social gatherings amongst the Mangaloreans and cultural cohesion with other communities. As a result, in the year 2007, KCA UK started celebrating ‘Christmas-Boom’ in Manchester. This event attracted and appreciated, not only by Mangaloreans, but also by others, in and around the United Kingdom. In the mean time a need was felt that, the Konkani community should be recognised by local authorities. The growing Konkani community should understand and value the local traditions. Hence KCA UK is currently working closely and getting involved with local community groups to provide education concerning good citizenship in a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-faith society of the United Kingdom. Thus rendering valued services to Konkani community KCA UK has become a well-known institution in the United Kingdom.

KCA UK shall provide platform for cultural cohesion for Konkani community through social gatherings, celebrating special events and education. Provide opportunity for developing talents, in the field like sports, culture and literature. KCA UK shall provide a common forum for Konkani community in the United Kingdom to foster their cultural links and heritage through various activities. On the matters of common interest KCA UK shall promote understanding and cooperation amongst various Konkani speaking communities in the United Kingdom.
