Christmas Celebration by KCA UK in Manchester
Manchester: KCA UK held the Christmas celebration, which is popularly known as ‘Christmas Boom’ for the eight successive year. This is one of the events hosted by KCA UK, which attract people from different community to come together and share some memorable moments. The event was held at Hotel Royal Nawaab Stockport- Manchester on December 27th 2014.
There were around 20 families gathered from all over United Kingdom to participate in this fun filled evening.
The event was commenced at 6.45 P.M. with a melodious song ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ from Melisha Barboza, Well Known Master of Ceremony Mr. Joseph Sequeira from Warrington gave a friendly start to the event. KCA UK President Mr. Santhosh Pinto welcomed the guests and urged them to take complete advantage of all the activities lined up for the evening.
KCA UK kids brilliantly performed the nativity play written and coordinated by Mrs. Cecelia Andrade.
Excitements were high when Santa Clause came into the stage, which was followed by Carol Singing by children and ladies.
Santa gave away presents to all the children. Mr. Benson Moras from Leeds as Santa, along with some outstanding music from DJ Rizwaan from Manchester gave a thrilling beginning to the event.
As scheduled, the Bar was opened at 7.45 P.M. by opening the Champagne and starters were served, Mr. Martin Saldanha was in charge for this set-up. This is followed by some exciting games both for men, women and Kids. Mr. Santhosh Pinto conducted the games.
Mrs. Ancita D’Souza sang a Konkani song from ‘Wilfy’s Melodies’ which was well appreciated by the participants.
Delicious Dinner was prepared and served by Nawaab Restaurant.
Mrs. Lainet Pinto and Mr. Vinod Barboza offered sincere thanks who worked hard to make the event possible and successful; they wished all the participants a happy new year.
The delightful evening continued with the prize draw, which was coordinated by Mrs. Marina Monis. 10 lucky people won the prizes. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Andrade won the family of the day prize; Mr. & Mrs. Mukesh Kannan honored the winners with a gift hamper.
Mrs. Parjwal Sequeira and Mr. Praveen Sequiera captured the event in their cameras.
In the late hour of the event, all participants were engaged in the non-stop dance.
Monthi-Fest Celebration in Manchester

Manchester: KCA-UK, a well known Konkani Association in the United Kingdom celebrated the Monti-Festh on September 13, 2014 at the Gandhi Hall in Manchester- UK. The Konkani speaking families from different parts of UK gathered on time as one family to fete this joy. This thrilling support from the guests not only renewed the spirit of happiness to this feast but also inspired to carry on this feast in a typical Mangalorean Culture, Custom and Tradition.
The celebration commenced with the introduction from Marina Monis (Warrington). This was soon followed by the showers of flowers by the children and the adults as an offering to Infant Mary to commemorate her birthday; whilst the choir simultaneously sang the hymn "Morieak Hogolxieam".
Fr. Agnelo B. De Souza from London offered the Holy Mass. The first reading was read by Jyothi Mendonca (Sunderland) and the second by Laveena Monis (Birmingham). In his homily Fr. Agnelo B. De Souza stressed the need for unit and value of traditions. The choir uplifted the spirit by the melodious singing by the Choir team led by Stanislaus Mendonca (Sunderland) and his team members. The Eucharistic Celebration was elated by the choir team and by the melodious music of Sujith Rodrigues and Mukesh from Manchester, which uplifted the spirit & joy of the feast and made the hearts of the congregation merrier.
Prior to the end of the mass Harshiya Pereira (Manchester) offered thanks to Fr. Agnelo B. De Souza, the Choir Team and all the people for their devotional participation during the holy mass. At the end of the mass elderly people who were amongst the assemblage were invited to the dais to actively participate in mixing the blessed corn with the milk which was later shared with all the guests. Their presence made the guest to remember their family members back in home town and also their near and dear ones.
