Santhosh Pinto elected to lead KCA UK
Manchester: On June 28, 2014, KCAUK held its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) at t St. Margaret’s Hall Burnage - Manchester.
The AGM commenced with, President Mr. Ronald Lobo (Manchester) welcoming the gathering. This was followed by the prayer led by Mrs. Lainet Pinto and Mrs. Reshma Lobo.
Mr. Vinod Barboza (Manchester), the Treasurer of the Association appraised the members about the past two year’s achievements of KCAUK. He emphasise upon the fact that the active participation of members was the key for the success of KCA UK. The highlights of the reports include the successful completion of feast of Nativity (Montifest), Christmas Boom and active participation of members in local community activities.
This was followed by the update of financial status of the Association to the members. Treasurer assured to communicate to the members the updates on the financial status of the Association on a regular basis. The highlight of the update was participant’s generosity during the events and member’s effective workings were the key factors for the KCA UK’s strong financial status.
This was followed by the election of Management committee for the year 2014 -2016; the following people were elected to serve KCA UK.
Jameson Banji from Warrington shall be the technical adviser for the KCA UK website
The above committee will take responsibility from September 08, 2014 and plan out the strategy for the coming two years.
The Outgoing President Ronald Lobo offered his sincere thanks to the people who worked hard for the development of the Association, whereas the Incoming President Santhosh Pinto explained his vision and assured that he and his team shall work closely with all the members for further strong KCA UK.
The AGM was concluded with entertainment and delicious dinner for all members.
KCA UK Summer Picnic 2014

Manchester: KCA UK organized its annual summer picnic to Roundhay Park Leeds on August 09, 2014. Roundhay Park now covers over 700 acres of parkland, lakes and woodland and is one of the largest urban parks in the Europe.
14 Families of KCA UK living in and around of Manchester, Warrington and Birmingham gathered together at Fallowfield Manchester on the day of picnic. The picnic began with the journey starting at 08.45 AM with a prayer.
KCA UK had this picnic well planned; a visit was made by KCA UK Members prior to the schedule picnic, to help the arrangements of the picnic. This proposed study and planning done has created a lot of interest for the group to visit this place. Sincere thanks goes to Benson Mores (Leeds) for all his cooperation.
The families reached the picnic spot area at around 10.00 AM. A second group consisting 6 more families from Nottingham and Sunderland joined the group at the picnic spot. In the morning the favouring weather boosted the picnic moods of the families. Breakfast was served, which kept the spirit and enthusiasm of the picnic ongoing. At this place, whole of KCA UK had a happy family gathering and placed the marquee in the camping area. This gave a common point to meet.
The Picnic activities started with games for both kids and adults. Santhosh Pinto from Manchester brilliantly conducted these games, and the winners of the games were rewarded. A delicious lunch was served at around 1.30 PM Thanks to Martin Saldanha for effectively organising the Food.
The afternoon session was dominated by well known Mangalorean rural games 'Dog and the Bone' and 'Lagori' managed by KCA UK President Ronald Lobo (Manchester). Kids enjoyed Cricket and Football, where as ladies enjoyed a good game of 'Throw Ball'.
The charming day further continued with the return journey at 6.00 PM where everyone continued their singing in the bus, later cracking jokes and conversations.
KCA UK sincerely thanks and remains grateful for everyone who worked hard on the picnic day and all who dedicated themselves behind the scene to make this event a successful. It was just another fantastic day ‘Family Day’ for everyone at KCA UK.
